His Excellency Faisal F. Alibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning, delivered the Kingdom's address at the 2025 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, held in New York City.
During his speech, His Excellency stated: “In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Vision 2030 has emerged as a national project rooted in the ambitions of our wise leadership and the aspirations of our citizens, making the Kingdom the fastest-advancing G20 country in sustainable development indicators over the past 10 years." His Excellency also emphasized that this qualitative achievement was the result of aligning ambition with organized action, supported by strong will and effective policies.
“This progress confirms that qualitative achievement is realized when ambition is aligned with organized action, driven by strong will and supported by effective policies," His Excellency added.
His Excellency stressed that “progress alone is not enough. Efforts that remain at the level of intentions do not make a difference. What we need today is a more focused approach, one that directs efforts toward the most pressing priorities with courage, precision, and consistency, and enables us to deliver real and lasting impact."
His Excellency recalled the Kingdom's call at last year's forum: “At this forum last year, the Kingdom called for transitioning into a new phase of implementation, one that is supported by an updated mechanism built on three principles: First, focusing impact on the most pressing challenges and avoiding dispersion into marginal issues. Second, designing agile solutions that can be adapted and replicated in various contexts, and third, relying on evidence and data to build decisions on the strongest foundations."
His Excellency highlighted the pioneering local efforts arising from national sustainable development plans, saying: “Medina has launched the Sustainable Development Atlas for all its seventy neighborhoods, a pioneering step that provided in-depth data and enabled the simulation of scientific scenarios and more accurate and impactful policy-making."
At the conclusion of his speech, His Excellency reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to global collaboration, saying, “we will continue close collaboration with member states to turn commitments into results and ambitions into reality, to build a present and future that leaves no one behind."
His Excellency concluded, “the world today does not lack ambition, but rather greater focus on what matters, effective collaboration regardless of circumstances, reliance on evidence and long-term vision, and boldness not only in ambition, but in execution. Results are within reach. The future is not to be awaited, it must be created now."
