His Excellency Faisal F. Alibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning, participated in the 2026 OECD Ministerial Council Meeting, held in Paris, under the theme “Getting Industrial Policies Right for Open Markets, Growth and Prosperity."​

During the meeting, His Excellency participated in a ministerial session titled “Balancing the Goals and Impacts of Industrial Policy," where he highlighted Saudi Arabia's experience in advancing economic diversification and sustainable growth under Saudi Vision 2030. He also addressed how the Kingdom's approach to industrial policy is centered on enabling long-term competitiveness, strengthening economic resilience, and creating an environment that supports innovation, investment, and private sector growth.

His Excellency also underscored the importance of designing industrial policies that are adaptive and productivity-driven, with a focus on building capabilities that strengthen competitiveness across the economy. He also highlighted the role of international collaboration in supporting sustainable economic development, knowledge exchange, and investment flows, while reinforcing the need for policies that enable businesses to innovate and compete globally.

The OECD Ministerial Council Meeting serves as the organization's highest-level forum, bringing together ministers and senior officials from member and partner countries to discuss key global economic priorities and strengthen international policy coordination.
